Little Farmers

Little Farmers is a play based program for children ages 4-7. In this program, children begin their animal and crop care experience, participate in farm to table food preparation, play, imagine, and create together.

This program runs on Wednesdays from 10am -2pm.

Fall session is September 9th through November 11th.

The Details:

This is a drop off program.

If your child needs you to stay for a bit at first we can work with that. Maximum teacher to child ratio is 2:14.

Our day generally flows like this:

  • Free play time. Our play area has swings, slide and fort, ninja line, sandbox and mud kitchen toys and lots of open space.

  • Snack and circle.

  • A walk around the farm which includes some animal care, discussion about what is happening at the farm, checking crops and time to play at the hay bales.

  • Lunch and more free play. (Children do need to bring their own lunch.)

  • Activity of the day, which is often food related, but may also include learning more about animals or the farm store and doing a craft.

  • Winding down activity and clean up.

We have so much fun at the farm and usually have a good mix of children who have been in program for a couple of years who are kind leaders, and those who are newer.

This program runs for 10 weeks in the fall and spring.

Cost is $450 for the 10 weeks and includes all materials.

Payment is by cash or e-transfer and is required to hold the spot.

Additional Notes:

We require that children wear closed toed shoes. Running shoes will do and rain boots are recommended if there has been any rain at all. Otherwise, the children do need to bring their own lunches and beverages, and any bug spray or sunscreen that you may wish for them to use. We don't have a lot of mosquitoes but they do occasionally come around. Our main play area is fully shaded but we are in full sun for parts of the day. We recommend that they also bring a full change of clothing, just in case, and that you keep in mind that the farm is often quite breezy and can be cooler that it might be in other areas of the county.
